Performer Biographies
Aaron Minnick -- Aaron's performing experience is diverse, ranging
from theater to big band. He has played saxophone and clarinet in a variety of community
concert bands and dance bands, and has sung in community, church, and collegiate choral
groups. He also participates in musical theater, most recently in the Pleasure Guild's
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He began teaching himself recorder at the age of 14 and
now plays in both the Merry Makers and Musica di Camerata.
June Speak -- June received her Master's Degree in music theory and
composition from the Ohio State University. As an undergraduate she performed in the
Symphonic Choir and was a member of the Collegium Musicum, playing the alto recorder and
leading a recorder quintet. She taught private piano for 15 years and theory and
composition at OSU during her graduate years. This was followed by a one-year faculty
appointment, after which she left the world of music to develop a career in computers. Now
retired, she has returned to her first love as a member of this group and Musica di
Camerata.
Dan Thyng -- Dan's past experience includes playing baritone in both
marching and concert bands during his college years. At that time he also contributed his
skills with harpsichord and soprano and tenor recorders to his college early music
ensemble. He currently plays string bass in the Upper Arlington Civic Orchestra and the
Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra. As a member of the Musica di Camerata and the Merry Makers
he performs on the cornamuse as well as his recorders.
